Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
The ideal candidate will join a vibrant and inclusive educational community and have a desire and ability to work with a diverse population. The Director of Apprenticeship Pathways is a new grant-funded position that will support and facilitate the build and management of three new apprenticeship pathways over the next 2-3 years: Behavioral Health, Hospitality, and Surgical Tech. The Director of Apprenticeship Pathways will play an important role in leveraging success for the program, workplace, faculty, and students who are working together to advance student degree completion while also meeting the high demand of our employer partners.
The Director will balance the relationship between program design implementation, faculty and curriculum support, student support, and employer partnership success. This work will focus on all marketing, administration, recruiting, data, budget, grant management, grant reporting, and apprenticeship faculty collaboration. The Director is also responsible for coordinating, developing, and implementing outreach, marketing, and recruitment activities to promote and expand apprenticeship degree pathways and make MassBay Apprenticeship Pathways as competitive and successful as possible. This position supervises a full-time apprenticeship student navigator. The Director reports directly to the Executive Director of Corporate Partnerships, Workforce Development, and Community Education and works in close partnership with Accelerate the Future, The Smith Family Foundation, and the National Center for Apprenticeship Degree.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
- Facilitate the successful implementation of the Apprenticeship Pathways program at MassBay;
- Work with leaders in enrollment management, academic affairs, and student services to build communication, structure, and seamless integration into the apprenticeship program;
- Develop apprenticeship degrees for incumbent workers within our industry partner sites;
- Work alongside with Accelerate the Future, Smith Family Foundation, National Center for Apprenticeship Degrees and fellow grantees on launching three new apprenticeships over the next 18 months;
- Develop trusting relationships with employer partners to support their needs and work while building successful apprenticeship pathways with their incumbent workers at their sites;
- Work alongside the Data admin and develop metrics to create data reports in Salesforce;
- Manage all budget, grant, and report obligations that are associated with the project;
- Recruit, manage, and develop a full-time apprenticeship navigator position to assist student success;
- Learn about the national apprenticeship model and direct work toward getting MassBay’s apprenticeships to get certification so the apprenticeships are sustainable;
- Scale programming to meet the needs of industry partners;
- Work across departments, faculty, career, student support, and community and industry partnerships to build successful pathways;
- Monitor all student compliance and attendance and provide referrals to support services as appropriate;
- Attend all statewide and regional meetings;
- Collect and analyze data to monitor and evaluate student outcomes;
- Work Schedule:Must be onsite in Framingham two days a week.
Some evenings and occasional Sundays for a community
event.

equity and inclusion.

Required Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree required;
- Extensive experience in programming and working with student learning programs, enrollment, faculty, and industry partners;
- Understanding of the workings and structure of credit and transfer programming in higher education;
- Significant and detailed experience in enrollment and processes within enrollment and financial aid;
- Superior skills in fundraising and proposals;
- Ability to engage with external constituents from many diverse backgrounds, prioritizing varying agendas;
- Able to work evenings and weekends occasionally and travel regionally;
- Ability to direct, promote, and manage innovative statewide initiatives;
- Ability to research and solve problems as barriers present themselves;
- Skills in prioritizing multiple tasks, organizing and working with technology LMS and CRM;
- Experience building successful programming workspaces;
- Commitment to collaborating and creating space for
participation.
- Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action and workforce diversity;
- Experience working in a diverse environment;
- Demonstrated commitment to working with underserved students;
- Bilingual in Spanish or Portuguese;
- Experience in fundraising and Grant Development;
- Previous leadership role in enrollment and/or academic programs;
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with high-level
managers in corporate spaces.
Salary Range: $105,000 - $108,000
