Position Purpose
The Program Manager for the new Center for Career Design will play a pivotal role in facilitating early career discovery among undergraduate students at Dartmouth. This in-person position involves management of a dynamic career-focused design thinking workspace, as well as overseeing a team of student ambassadors who support the space’s activities and initiatives. This role will help oversee the expansion of the Center for Career Design and enhancement of services to accommodate the growing needs of the student body and job market.

Bachelors plus 2-3 years' experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
Required Qualifications - Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as design, innovation, or education.
- Demonstrated experience in design thinking methodologies and practices, with a passion for fostering creativity and innovation.
- Proven project management skills, with the ability to plan, execute, and evaluate complex initiatives and programs.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Experience working with students in a mentorship or leadership capacity.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate complex concepts and ideas.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with a demonstrated ability to create inclusive spaces and programming.
- Ability to work evening and/or weekend hours as needed.
- Master’s degree.
- Knowledge of facility management principles and best practices.
- Experience working with students in a mentorship or leadership capacity in a higher education setting.

Description
Career Design Thinking Lab Development-
- Under the direction of the Executive Director, supports the development and design of the career design thinking lab, ensuring it is conducive to creativity, inclusivity, collaboration, and ongoing innovation.
- Collaborates with university stakeholders, faculty, and students to gather input and feedback on the design and functionality of the workspace. Iterates and evolves the space accordingly.
- Evaluates the effectiveness of lab initiatives through assessment and feedback mechanisms, continuously refining and adapting programming to meet student needs and preferences.

Lab Operations Management-
- Oversees the day-to-day operations of the design thinking lab, including scheduling, maintenance, and cleanliness.
- Develops and implements policies and procedures for the space, ensuring a welcoming, safe and inclusive environment for all users.
- Provides training and support to students, faculty, and staff on how to effectively utilize the workspace and leverage design thinking principles in their career-related projects and activities.

Student Ambassador Program-
- Under the direction of the Executive Director and Senior Associate Director, recruits, trains and supervises a team of student ambassadors to serve as advocates and resources for the design thinking workspace.
- Coordinates student ambassador schedules and assignments, ensuring adequate coverage and support for workspace users.
- Fosters a culture of creativity, inclusivity, collaboration, and innovation among student ambassadors, providing opportunities for development and growth.

Description
Program Development and Outreach-
- Develops and implements programming and events to promote the career design workspace and engage the Dartmouth community.
- Partners with faculty, staff, employers, student organizations and alumni to organize and host collaborative workshops that support career design and exploration.
- Learns from external organizations and industry leaders to enhance the impact of design thinking principles and the career design workspace on campus.
