Job Summary:
The Agriculture Department at LBCC offers a wide range of courses including Computers in Agriculture, Forage Crops, Marketing in Agriculture, Management in Agriculture, Soils ( CSS ) and many more. The faculty member develops, plans, and presents organized lectures, laboratory activities, and out of class assignments in accordance with approved course outlines.
Required Qualifications:

- 27 graduate quarter hours in Agriculture or a related field
- Prefer Master’s degree in Agriculture or a related field.
- Teaching experience in a community college or university setting is preferred.
Requires the ability to work with staff and students.
Work is performed in an office or classroom setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards.
Essential Duties:
Applicants must possess a combination of academic preparation and professional experience that demonstrates the ability to:
- Imparts excitement and enthusiasm into the teaching of agriculture.
- Develops course schedules and syllabi.
- Plans, develops, and delivers classroom lectures and activities as well as write tests and develops other methods to evaluate student progress and competence.
- Develops or adapts laboratory exercises students will find engaging and relevant.
- Assures lab equipment is properly used and verifies all equipment is present at the end of each laboratory section.
- Works effectively with students and staff of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and ages and successfully interacts with supervisors, colleagues, and staff as part of an education team.
- Communicates effectively in oral and written English.
- Keeps accurate grade and attendance records.
- Establishes and maintains opportunities for reasonable out-of-class contact with students.

Salary and Compensation Information:
Courses are paid on a per-credit basis. New Part-time Faculty begin at Step 1 of the payscale, with steps being “rolled” once per term.

As a condition of employment, all new employees are required to be compensated via direct deposit.
