Job Summary:
The Family Connections child care provider training instructor provides education on topics that assist people employed in the field of childhood care and education to improve outcomes for children, meet state requirements for child care provider licensing and/or enhance professional development.
Required Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Human Development, Family Studies, Counseling, Education or related field.
- Experience teaching adults is preferred.
Position requires visual acuity, arm, hand and finger dexterity, and hand-eye coordination. Requires speaking and hearing ability sufficient to carry on routine conversations. Work is performed in a classroom or office setting with minimal exposure to health and safety hazards.
Essential Duties:
- Having a working knowledge of the philosophy, goals and values of the Family Connections child care provider training program.
- Participating in the professional development activities provided by the Family Connections Department.
- Preparing for each class session with a focus on appropriate learner outcomes and developmentally appropriate practices in the field of childhood care and education.
- Completing or facilitating the completion of appropriate paperwork and records such as registration forms, class agendas and handouts, course outlines, and evaluations.
- Maintaining responsibility for confidentiality of participants.
- Providing high quality instruction on topics that are identified in one or more of the eight Core Knowledge categories defined by Oregon’s Center for Career Development.

Salary and Compensation Information:
Courses are paid on a per-credit basis. New Part-time Faculty begin at Step 1 of the payscale, with steps being “rolled” once per term.

As a condition of employment, all new employees are required to be compensated via direct deposit.
