Job Summary:
Proctors and administers a variety of tests and assessments, to groups and individuals. Schedules appointments for a variety of testing procedures. Performs general office duties.

Education and Experience:
- Position requires a AA/AS;
- OR, one year full time experience in test administration, teaching, training, counseling, or office management.
- Requires basic knowledge of general office practices, procedures and equipment including record keeping, filing and typing.
- Requires familiarity with personal computers, with word processing and database applications.
- Requires skill in receptionist and telephone techniques and etiquette.
- Requires good organizational and communication skills.
- Requires the ability to perform the duties of the position, efficiently and effectively with minimal supervision.
- Requires ability to learn, understand and apply department and college rules, regulations and policies.
- Must be able to operate standard office machines and equipment including typewriter, copier, personal computer, etc.
- Must be able to communicate with a diverse group of students, sometimes in stressful situations, using tact and diplomacy.
- Prior testing experience or experience working with confidential documents is desired.
- College courses in business, secretarial or related area strongly preferred.
- Prefer knowledge and understanding of student assessment programs, policies and procedures, including testing protocols.
Physical Skills and Abilities: Requires the ability to use electronic communication and computation systems. Requires sufficient visual acuity to read words, numbers and visually monitor testers.
Working Conditions: Work is normally performed in an office setting with little or no exposure to health and safety hazards. Substantial amount of time is spent working at a computer. May periodically require working evening, weekend and extra hours.
Essential Duties:
- Verifies student identification and eligibility, obtains necessary releases, maintains test security and ensures test integrity by direct observation and security cameras. Ensures there are no means of interruption or outside assistance during tests. Makes sure testers have only allowable materials.
- Schedules appointments for tests. Follows procedures to ensure accurate timing, no overlap and accurate seating.
- Performs receptionist duties, including assisting students and callers, providing detailed information regarding tests, procedures and general campus information, and relaying messages.
- Files records and reports daily, keeping secure materials in locked cabinets and files.
- Maintains participatory count, records, and inventories. Logs students in and out using appropriate forms and correct time allowances for a variety of tests. Regularly inventories GED and other testing materials in order to maintain security and/or order supplies.
- Provides special proctor services for other departments, outside agencies, and other colleges and universities. Follows guidelines for maintaining general test security. Follows exactly any special instructions particular to individual test situations. Forwards results as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
