Job Summary:
Teach professional-technical courses in the field of Early Childhood Education
Required Qualifications:

Education and Experience:
- Master’s degree in Child Development, Human Development and Family Sciences, Education, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field.
- Demonstrated commitment to student-centered principles and an understanding of the community college mission.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with diverse individuals, including faculty, staff, and students.
- Demonstrated commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
- Prefer recent college teaching experience, working knowledge of computer software and Learning Management Systems.
- Experience with different modalities of instruction, including synchronous and asynchronous online learning.
- Knowledge and expertise in one or more of the following areas, Reggio-Inspired curriculum approach, PBIS (Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports), Infant Toddler Curriculum and group care, Cultural Sensitivity, Reflective Curriculum and Loose Parts.
- Recent experience working in early childhood classrooms is preferred.
- Proficiency in a second language, preferably Spanish.
Requires the ability to work with staff and students. Work is performed in an office or classroom setting with minimal exposure to safety or health hazards.
Essential Duties:
- Teach early childhood education and development classes.
- Prepare and develop materials for classes utilizing approved course outcomes.
- Assign and grade student work; report student attainment of course outcomes.
- Keep abreast of development in subject area and educational technology, innovative teaching techniques, and continuously strive for professional improvement.
- Establish and maintain opportunities for reasonable and consistent out-of-class contact with students.
- Exemplify and promote Work within the mission of LBCC .
- Work effectively with students and staff of various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds and ages. .Promote both a classroom environment and a curriculum of equity and inclusivity.
- Interact with supervisors, colleagues, and staff as part of a team.
- Participate as assigned in occasional department and advisory meetings.

Salary and Compensation Information:
Courses are paid on a per-credit basis. New Part-time Faculty begin at Step 1 of the payscale, with steps being “rolled” once per term.

As a condition of employment, all new employees are required to be compensated via direct deposit.
