Position Summary:
The Regional Professional Development (PD) Specialist-Bilingual, under the direction of the Regional Office Lead, helps support the goals of the IdahoSTARS project with delivery of early childhood professional development opportunities that are equitable, research-based, and demonstrate best-practices for child care providers serving children birth to 12 years old in Idaho. The PD Specialist is responsible for delivering professional development opportunities, developing early childhood curriculum and technical assistance modules. This position will train staff and trainers on developed materials as needed. This position is contingent upon the continuation of work and/or funding.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following:
- Early Childhood Education
- Child Development
- Human Development
- Family and Consumer Studies
- Child and Family Studies
- Child Care and Development, or
- Family Relations and Child Development
- Curriculum delivery
- The development of content grounded in research in a deliverable manner
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience:
- Five years’ experience in the field of early care and education
- Use of Adult Learning Principles to ensure quality content delivery and development
Education: Master’s degree in one of the following:
- Early Childhood Education
- Child Development
- Human Development
- Family and Consumer Studies
- Child and Family Studies
- Child Care and Development, or
- Family Relations and Child Development
Knowledge of:
- Quality inclusive care
- Cultural responsiveness
- Practice-based coaching in early childhood settings
- Gathering, assembling, correlating, and analyzing data
- Interpreting federal or state regulations/guidelines to develop interactive modules in Articulate 360
Ability to:
- Develop and deliver training in English and Spanish
- Read, speak and translate between English and Spanish (Level ILR3)
- Maintain high level of confidentiality
- Interact with staff in a positive manner
- Work in a state-wide team environment to accomplish goals
- Organize and problem-solve in a self-sufficient manner
- Use data to make informed decisions
- Manage a variety of projects simultaneously and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ensure high customer satisfaction by responding to customer questions promptly, in a knowledgeable, friendly manner over the phone, email or in-person, following up when necessary to ensure concerns are resolved
- Portray a friendly, professional demeanor with a positive attitude
