Teaching Faculty I, 12-Month Salaried (Biology)

The Department of Biological Science at Florida State University invites applications for a full-time, 12-month, non-tenure-track Teaching Faculty position to begin January 2025. The position requires a Ph.D. or highest-level terminal degree in the biological sciences. A demonstrated interest in teaching at the undergraduate level as well as experience with current scientific teaching approaches is required. We seek a creative individual with excellent interpersonal, written, and public speaking skills who can work independently and as part of a team. The applicant should be highly motivated to instruct, inspire, and mentor students early in their university experience.

The successful candidate will teach either the first semester (chemistry, cell biology, molecular biology) or the second semester (ecology, evolution, and genetics) of general biology for majors in a large-lecture format to population with potential to teach an upper-division course in the applicant's area of expertise. Participation in departmental activities and opportunities to further instructional expertise and professional development is also expected. This position is annually renewable, dependent on performance.
