The School of Medicine partners with six of the leading hospitals in Kansas City to provide students and residents outstanding medical education as they rotate through the various clinical departments. These hospitals include Truman Medical Centers, Children’s Mercy Kansas City, Saint Luke’s Hospital, Center for Behavioral Medicine, the Kansas City VA Medical Center, and Research Medical Center. The School does not operate its own hospital, however many of the doctors who practice at these hospitals also hold faculty positions with the School.

Job Description

The UMKC School of Medicine is seeking a part-time faculty member for the UMKC Master of Science in Anesthesia program. The experienced clinician educator will collaborate with existing faculty to implement an array of teaching and student evaluation strategies in the classroom and clinical training facility. This will include ensuring delivery of content consistent with ARC-AA accreditation standards. Additional duties include student academic advising, professional development, admission and curriculum committee activities, and participation in the program’s ongoing self-study, accreditation, assessment, continuous improvement processes.

Qualifications

Must be a certified Anesthesiologist Assistant with a Graduate degree in education, administration, medicine, or anesthesia.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary: $97,400 annually, 20 hours/week or .50 FTE

This position will follow the current academic and MS Anesthesia schedule

The start date is October 1
