Job Description:
Empire State University is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor of Spanish Language Bachelor of Business Administration in our School of Business. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to participate in the offering of a Spanish Language Bachelor of Business Administration program, an innovative business program that will serve learners across New York State and around the world. Disciplinary areas include Accounting, Business, Economics, Management, and related areas.
Responsibilities:
- Developing and teaching online courses in our Spanish Language Bachelor of Business Administration.
- Mentoring students.
- Participating in curriculum development and academic assessment in the Spanish Language Bachelor of Business Administration.
- Participating in university service.
- Developing and maintaining an active research agenda.
Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- An earned doctorate from a regionally accredited U.S. university or comparable non-U.S. university.
- Bilingual and biliterate in Spanish and English.
- College or university level teaching experience.
- Experience with supporting diverse populations.
- Ability to work in a dispersed faculty environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with teaching and mentoring in online learning environments.
- Experience with academic program development.
- Relevant industry and/or field experience.
- Prior knowledge of and experience in working with bilingual and emergent bilingual learners, particularly in online settings.
- Prior experience working effectively with faculty, staff, and students from diverse linguistic, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
Special Information:
- Occasional travel will be required to fulfill university-wide commitments.
- Office hours will vary to accommodate student needs.
- Some evening and/or weekend engagement with students is required.
- Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis.
