Job Summary

The incumbent assists the Dean and Director of Land-Grant Programs, managing or overseeing various special assignments as directed. He/she oversees AG Development, Alumni & Staff Development Services, On and Off -Campus Facilities, Transportation, Building Maintenance, and Construction ensuring these services provide broad and robust engagement designed to meet a student and alumni-focused mission, diversified product offering, and strong fiscal management. He/she acts as a surrogate and counselor to the Dean and Director of Land-Grant Programs.

Essential Job Functions
  • Represents the Dean and Director of Land-Grant Programs, as assigned.
  • Designs and implements programs that help carry out the Dean and Director’s duties and responsibilities.
  • Manages and strategically plans for auxiliary services, including, but not limited to the offices of AG Development, Alumni and Staff Development Services, On and Off Campus Facilities, Transportation, Building Maintenance, and Construction.
  • Works closely with the Director of Fiscal Operations to ensure projects are completed promptly.
  • Oversees the Director of Facility, Grounds and staff.
  • Prepares and manages projects associated with auxiliary services, including writing/overseeing projects associated with auxiliary services.
  • Oversees the evaluation of Requests for Proposals (RFPs), contract review, and vendor compliance with terms.
  • Provides strategic direction for auxiliary operations and revenue generation.
  • Works with the Offices of Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, Student services, and other university divisions and departments to strategically integrated auxiliary service into the core of the university mission.
  • Monitors the operation of contracted auxiliary services.
  • Evaluates projects, including gathering data, analyzing it and making determinations as to success and efficiency.
  • Conducts research (statistical, historical and/or administrative), synthesizes it and presents it to the Dean and Director of Land-Grant Programs.
  • Identifies inefficiencies in organizational operations and suggests corrections, including logistical inefficiencies or misdirection of priorities.
  • Serves as all-purpose trouble shooter, correcting errors and resolving conflicts to facilitate the Dean and Director of Land-Grant Programs’ ability to accomplish tasks without interruption · Coordinates functions as assigned in inter-departmental activities.
  • Assists in planning, developing, implementing and managing key business issues and protocols.
  • Performs special assistance duties in creating and establishing annual business goals and objectives for the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences.
  • Serves as team lead on projects, as assigned by the Dean and Director of Land-Grant Programs.
  • Other related duties, as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, project management, architectural engineering, or comparable discipline. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Five (5) years’ progressively responsible financial and administrative senior management experience, preferably in higher education.
  • Three (3) years’ demonstrated contract negotiation and oversight experience
