Major/Essential Functions
The Department of Rehabilitation Sciences in the School of Health Professions at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center invites applications for the position of Adjunct Faculty in the Doctor of Science in Rehabilitation Sciences (ScD RS) program to begin January 2025. The primary role of the appointment is to coordinate courses and support students through their dissertation process. Coordination responsibilities will include developing and maintaining course content, grading assignments and instruction, and coordinating contact sessions in Lubbock, Texas.
The adjunct faculty member may work collaboratively with faculty from the Master of Athletic Training (MAT), Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT), Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD), Post-Professional Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTDP), and Doctor of Philosophy in Rehabilitation Science (PhD) within the department as well as with other departments within the School and University.
The successful candidate will join one of the oldest programs of its kind. It is a blended post-professional terminal degree program for licensed athletic trainers, occupational therapists, and physical therapists who seek advanced clinical knowledge and skills. The Sc.D. is clinically focused instead of profession-focused. This degree builds on shared knowledge and encourages new interprofessional paradigms.
