Job Details
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as Director/Conductor of the Alvernia Chorus, the institution’s oldest co-curricular activity,
- Teach vocal music in private studio lessons, per enrollment,
- Teach two regular, in-classroom courses in Music each semester,
- Provide coordination and support for solo instrumental music lessons,
- Provide coordination and support for Music Program and adjuncts, as needed
- Investigate and initiate the creation of elite vocal ensemble(s).
Job Requirements:
- Appropriate terminal degree in Music.
- Mastery of vocal technique and pedagogy (including singing in languages other than English).
- Previous success in directing/conducting vocal ensembles.
- Previous teaching experience in studio and classroom settings is necessary.
- Desire to further the mission of the university through the arts.
- Continued professional and creative practice is strongly desired.
- Experience and desire to support recruitment preferred.
