Job Details
FPU seeks a creative, energetic, and entrepreneurial professional to serve as Vice President of Communications and Marketing (VPCM). The VPCM and a strong, existing team will help to develop and implement a range of progressive communications and marketing services and strategies needed to drive enrollment and philanthropy and enhance the University’s brand and visibility. Through various marketing and advertising modalities and tools - including traditional and digital media, analytics, AI-powered approaches, and more - the VP will develop and execute communications and marketing campaigns integrated with enrollment, advancement, and long-range strategic planning goals. The VPCM will provide leadership in crisis management and planning, as well as work to enhance connections with industry and community leaders that lead to partnerships and funding. The department, under the leadership of the VPCM, is also responsible for overseeing government relations, public relations, and strategic vendor partnerships.
A member of the President’s Senior Staff, the VPCM must have a bachelor’s degree (master’s degree preferred), and significant communications and marketing experience, ideally in higher education or a related field. Strong verbal and written communication skills, superior planning and organizational competencies, a high degree of attention to detail, and ability to achieve results in resourceful ways are essential. Also, expertise in graphic design, print, internet, video, and other communications technologies is desirable. With a current, planned presidential transition underway, the VPCM will join our FPU family at a time of genuine excitement, positive change, and entrepreneurial focus.
Relocation is available, and while this is an on-campus position, a flexible work schedule is possible. FPU offers competitive wages and benefits packages including medical, dental and vision coverage, 403(b) retirement plan through TIAA, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, educational benefits (for employee and qualifying dependents), pet insurance, accident insurance, critical illness coverage, travel discounts, 160 hours of paid time off (PTO), with additional paid sick time for your well-being, and paid holidays. Candidates should submit a cover letter, résumé, and contact information for three references (references will not be
checked until the finalist stage of the search). FPU is committed to enhancing the diversity of its community in many realms and is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EEO). Find out more at www.franklinpierce.edu.
