Job Description:
This position is eligible for up to two days remote work per week.
BASIC FUNCTION:
As an IT Project Manager, you will be responsible for leading projects within the IT department, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards. You will work closely with stakeholders, including university leadership, functional area subject matter experts, application specialists, business analysts, and other stakeholders, to define project objectives, create project plans, allocate resources, and execute and monitor progress.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Project Planning : Define project scope, goals, and deliverables. Develop detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, and resource allocation.
- Team Leadership : Lead cross-functional teams, providing direction, guidance, and support to team members. Foster collaboration and communication within the team.
- Stakeholder Management : Identify project stakeholders and establish communication channels. Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Risk Management : Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Monitor project risks throughout the project lifecycle and take proactive measures to address them.
- Quality Assurance : Ensure that project deliverables meet quality standards and customer requirements. Conduct regular quality reviews and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Change Management : Manage changes to project scope, schedule, and budget. Assess the impact of changes and communicate effectively with stakeholders.
- Resource Management : Allocate resources effectively to ensure project success. Monitor resource utilization and make adjustments as necessary.
- Reporting and Documentation : Prepare regular progress reports for stakeholders. Maintain comprehensive project documentation, including project plans, schedules, and status reports.
- Vendor Management : Coordinate with external vendors and contractors as needed. Manage vendor relationships and ensure deliverables meet contractual requirements.
- Work with PMO team to ensure that Project Management best practices are leveraged to ensure project success
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvement and best practices adoption. Implement lessons learned from previous projects to enhance project outcomes.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops, as appropriate, to maintain required technical skill levels.

Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, business management or a related field.
- Two years of experience managing IT projects.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills. Ability to motivate and inspire team members to achieve project goals.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Solid understanding of project management methodologies
- Proficiency in project management tools and software, such as Microsoft Project
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to identify issues, analyze root causes, and develop effective solutions.
- Strong organizational skills
- Experience with risk management, change management, and quality assurance processes.
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure, systems development lifecycle, and software development methodologies.
- Project management certification (e.g., PMP) is preferred.
- More than 2 years of experience managing IT projects.
