The Department of Neurology at the University of Washington School of Medicine in Seattle is hiring a Neuromuscular neurologist to join the Division of Pediatric Neurology at Seattle Children’s Hospital. The Pediatric Neurology Division at Seattle Children’s Hospital provides comprehensive treatment and diagnostic services for children in the WWAMI (Washington, Wyoming, Alaska, Montana and Idaho) region. Seattle Children’s is a 364 bed hospital with 44 PICU, 32 NICU and 20 Cardiothoracic ICU beds.  The Division of Neurology currently includes 30 faculty members with a range of specialty interests who lead multiple subspecialty programs.  We have an inpatient Epilepsy Monitoring Unit which is part of a well-established Epilepsy Surgery program.  The Division is supported by 10 Advanced Practice Nurses, ketogenic dieticians, and research coordinators. Faculty are involved in clinical and preclinical local and multic-center research studies. 

This is a full-time appointment and is a Open rank (without tenure for reasons due to funding) in the clinician-educator pathway. The rank is commensurate with qualification and experience.

Assistant Professors are eligible for multi-year appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off. The base salary range for this position in this title will be $17,019 - $18,736 per month ($204,228 to $224,832 per year), commensurate with experience, discipline, and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Associate and Full Professors hold indefinite appointments that align with a 12-month service period (July 1-June 30). Faculty with 12-month service periods are paid for 11 months of service over a 12-month period (July-June), meaning the equivalent of one month is available for paid time off.  The base salary range for this position in this title will be $19,275 - $23,762 per month ($231,300 to $285,144 per year), commensurate with experience, discipline, and qualifications, or as mandated by a U.S. Department of Labor prevailing wage determination.

Our salaries are bench marked based on the AAMC scale. Other compensation associated with this position may or may not include Startup, Relocation Incentive/Moving Allowance Administrative supplement for a defined administrative role, or Productivity Incentive.

The anticipated start date of this appointment is August 1, 2024.

Qualifications
Requirements include:

MD, DO, or foreign equivalent degree
eligibility for medical licensure in the State of Washington
Certification or eligibility for certification by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology
In order to be eligible for University sponsorship for an H-1B visa, graduates of foreign (non-U.S.) medical schools must show successful completion of all three steps of the U.S. Medical Licensing Exam (USMLE), or equivalent as determined by the Secretary of Health and Human Services.
