Assistant Vice President for State Relations and Health Policy (FA075A)
ODU is seeking candidates for an Assistant Vice President for State Relations and Health Policy (full-time, 12 month) position. The Assistant Vice President for State Relations and Health Policy will work to support and advance the University’s agenda with state legislative and executive branch agencies. In accordance with the growing portfolio, particular emphasis of this position will be placed on the University’s health science enterprise.
Required Education: Bachelor’s degree in political science, government, public health, public policy, health care, marketing, communications, or a related field
Required Qualifications:
- At least five years of work experience in government, policy, or related areas Proven track record of understanding complex matters, executing strategic efforts, and
maintaining confidentiality and professionalism at the highest levels Working knowledge of state government and the Virginia General Assembly Knowledge of political and government protocol High degree of skill with both verbal and written communication, including public speaking and professional writing
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced Degree At least ten years of work experience in government/policy
