Duties and Responsibilities

Teach assigned courses in accordance with program syllabi.

Generate immersive, hands-on and captivating course materials and activities.

Advise students and ensure the successful completion of their degree program.

Assist with ensuring curriculum, technology, facilities and equipment are current.

Academic audits, assessments and accreditation activities.

College committees and advisory boards.

Assist with student recruitment and retention.

Program administrative duties as appropriate.

Required and Preferred Qualifications

The ideal candidate for this role will have a strong desire for pedagogical and curricular innovation and will possess the following:

Education:
Required: Master’s degree in Homeland Security, Emergency Management, Criminology or Criminal Justice, or a Master’s with 18 Graduate hours in Homeland Security related coursework. related field plus relevant industry recognized certifications and five years of documented, successful industry-related experience.

Other combinations of education and experience will be considered.

Teaching experience or evidence of potential for excellence in classroom teaching.

Strong communication skills to work with our local agencies Emergency Management Agencies and Indiana Department of Homeland Security.
