JOB TITLE:

Assistant Professor of Latin American History

JOB PURPOSE:

The Department of History at the University of Wyoming invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position, at the assistant professor level, in the field of Latin American history. Preference for pre-20th century Central or South America

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The faculty member will be responsible for teaching a 2:3 course load, including undergraduate core classes in History (for example, a world history survey and general historical methods and theory) as well as undergraduate and graduate electives in Latin American history. They will also teach classes in their area of expertise.

SUPPLEMENTAL FUNCTIONS:

In addition, this faculty member will contribute to the Department of History's funded M.A. program by teaching graduate classes and supervising M.A. students. Undergraduate advising and departmental service are also expected.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

A Ph.D. or equivalent is required by the time of appointment.

  • Complements department's existing strengths.
