Position Description

The AQS supports the Department of Mathematical Sciences and associated programs. Responsibilities fall largely in the setup, administration, and maintenance of courses in the MS in Data Science program, MS in Data Analytics program, and graduate certificate programs

Position Responsibilities

  • Ensure prompt and exceptional customer service is delivered to students, faculty members, and other staff
  • Support program staff and instructors with course administrative tasks on Brightspace pages, including course setup, tracking and implementing course changes as instructed, and maintaining up-to-date course documents
  • Collaborate with instructors and advisors to manage grade incomplete requests and conduct plagiarism quality control checks for assignments
  • Maintain the academic quality of the program by conducting academic integrity checks, auditing courses and assessments, collaborating with subject matter experts (SMEs) to update quiz question banks, and overseeing academic quality projects
  • Engage in diverse administrative and analytical projects aimed at improving teaching effectiveness, enhancing management and operational efficiency.
  • Communication management administration of self-paced courses
  • Maintenance of administrative records
  • Answering and assisting with student questions and emails
  • Other administrative and academic quality responsibilities as needed
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent and thorough data analytical skills
  • Skilled in project management with experience in handling projects efficiently and on time.
  • Positive and professional attitude and behavior
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Thorough, with great attention to detail
  • Proficient in Google Workplace and Microsoft software
  • Knowledge of Brightspace administration (preferred)
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience in higher education
  • Interest in understanding data science and data analytics
