TEACHING FACULTY POSITION IN COMPUTING SCIENCES (DATABASE APPLICATIONS)

Job Purpose

The department of Electrical Engineering and Computing Sciences at RIT Dubai is seeking applications from exceptional candidates for a teaching-focused fulltime faculty position at the teaching assistant professor rank in computing sciences with focus on database applications and management. Responsibilities include teaching and education activities of 15 credit hours per semester, development of courses and laboratories, advising undergraduate and graduate students, supervising students in their capstones or theses, and participation in committee works.

Faculty on sabbatical can also apply.

The selected candidate is expected to start on August 26, 2024 in Dubai.

Required Qualifications

• PhD degree from an accredited institution in Information Technology or a closely related field with a concentrated coursework in database applications and management. A previous teaching experience with the ability to teach courses in the broad area of Database and Data Modelling, Database Connectivity and Access, Data Warehousing, Contemporary Databases, and Data Mining and Exploration. An established applied research portfolio in collaboration with the industry. Excellent communication skills.
