Summary of Job Duties:Instructor for Full Time Health Professions for the Texarkana Secondary Career Center.
Faculty shall be responsible to their dean and the Vice Chancellor for Academics and have the following duties:

•tTo be concerned with all things involving teaching and student learning and to provide instruction in accordance with the stated philosophy and objectives of the College and in accordance with the established and approved course outlines.

•tTo provide assessment of student learning in his/hers classes and to use this assessment to improve instruction.

•tTo acquaint all students with course requirements, including how grades are to be determined, during the first week of class and provide student with periodic evaluations of his/her progress.

•tTo meet classes as scheduled; follow appropriate course syllabi; and attend faculty, committee, and division meetings.

•tTo prepare thoroughly for each class period.

•tTo display professional mannerisms in conduct and appearance whether teaching day or evening classes.

•tTo hold ten office hours per week for student consultation and post the hours so that students can easily know them.

•tTo serve as an advisor to students majoring in the instructor’s teaching discipline or an assigned area.

•tTo maintain accurate class rolls and attendance records of students enrolled in their classes and submit required reports to Student Services.

•tTo emphasize to all classes the importance of prompt, regular, and continuous class attendance.

•tTo submit the names of all students who may need scholastic counseling and/or personal counseling to the Vice Chancellor for Student Services.

•tTo prepare and submit to the Enrollment Services office at the close of each grade report period the grade of each student enrolled in their classes.

•tTo accept registration duty assignments from the administration.

•tTo submit curriculum changes or new curriculum to the dean for review on a timely basis.

•tTo recommend textbook changes in consultation with the dean.

•tTo serve as a faculty advisor and/or sponsor to student organizations when requested to do so.

•tTo report all irregularities, questions, or problems concerning instruction to the dean and/or the Vice Chancellor for Academics.

•tTo participate in commencement exercises in academic dress, unless previously excused by the Vice Chancellor for Academics.

•tTo maintain current credentials on file with the Vice Chancellor for Academics and in the Office of Human Resources.

•tTo abide by the regulations in the Policies and Procedures Manual.

•tTo attend and support the activities of the College.

•tTo participate in professional activities in order to stay current in their disciplines.

•tTo assume special duties as assigned by the Vice Chancellor for Academics or his/her designated representative.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications: Registered Nurse. Associate Degree

Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor Degree. Previous teaching experience is preferred.

Salary Information:

$34,800.00 Base
