Job Description


The Coordinator III, Office of the President supports the President and Executive Assistant, by providing administrative support; related to projects, finance, and contracts. Under direct supervision, the position is responsible for multiple unique duties and projects, from planning to implementation. This position will work closely with the leadership cabinet and Vice Presidents of Administration, Instruction, and Student Services.


1. Works closely with the Executive Assistant to oversee daily and some long-term operations of assigned areas, including the cabinet and Vice Presidents

2. Manages assigned areas of finance, including budgets, preparing recommendations and entering the budget, and assisting with auditing and monitoring multiple department budgets within the leadership team. Involves analyzing data, performing research, preparing reports, and resolving and/or offering recommendations for resolutions to budget issues in working with Finance and Administration, Instruction, and Student Services

3. Works closely with assigned locations for the coordination of various accounting activities including payment of invoices, initiating requisitions and purchase orders and research and reconciliation of accounts

4. Conducts research, collects data, and creates a variety of reports, presentations, correspondences, and communications for the Office of the President (including hard copy and digital documents)

5. Sends reports and correspondences on behalf of the Office of the President

6. Acts a Subject Matter Expert within the Office of the President; may provide training, guidance, and oversight for staff and workflows

7. Assists the Executive Assistant with coordinating, planning, implementing, and participating in multiple projects, events, conferences, etc.

8. Works with the Executive Assistant to coordinate with Business Partners for hospitality and communication on behalf of the Office of the President including announcements, meetings, and customer service issues

9. Organizes and tracks legal matters in a variety of detailed databases

10. Assists the President and Executive Assistant with additional system-wide projects

11. Provides coverage and backup in the assigned area and during breaks to ensure the Office of the President is adequately covered

12. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.


· PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment

· Internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position

· Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards

· Work outside of typical office hours will occasionally be required, including evenings and weekends


· Bachelor's Degree and at least 1 year of experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education


· Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with an Accounting or Finance emphasis

· At least 3 years of related work experience

· Experience using PeopleSoft software


Hiring salary range is $48,152-$55,375

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education.
