Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Specialist III, Enrollment Services specializes in enrollment and student support and serves as a primary expert in admissions and records for Lone Star College-Kingwood.



ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Update or change students' (biographical) information in the system and verify residency requirements
  2. Assist deans in enrolling students in new classes or sections when a class has been cancelled and Notice of Grade Changes for instructors
  3. Assist with various enrollment issues to include reinstatement requests, backdating requests, and other items related to student records
  4. Handle all processes involving transcript evaluation ensuring federal, state and college policies are followed
  5. Receive and evaluate admissions required documents into PeopleSoft including transcripts, test scores, and other items to determine eligibility for admissions and college readiness, and scan to OnBase
  6. Conduct a variety of research, including other institution catalogs for evaluations purposes
  7. Performs auditing functions to ensure and maintain data integrity and compliance and works with the Director to resolve any discrepancies
  8. Serve on enrollment/registration appeals committee.
  9. Refer student for testing and enter new student information into college database system
  10. Provide/process admissions related documents such as FERPA, Testing Ticket, Bacterial Meningitis, Parental Consent and Waiver Form, etc., and providing assistance with completing the Texas Common Application
  11. Responsible for other reasonable, related duties as assigned


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Must have excellent written, computer, and verbal communication skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to use software products
  • Ability to work on multiple projects
PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE AND CONDITIONS:
  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone, and other general office equipment
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Salary

Hiring salary range is $33,540 - $38,571

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education. Should you receive an offer of employment from Lone Star College, the resume submitted in the application process will be utilized to calculate your salary offer.
