JOB OVERVIEW

Math Corps Trainers are hired to teach 1-4 classes involving math instruction to middle and/or high school students Monday-Thursday each week for the duration of the summer camp. Each trainer plays a key role in carrying out the Math Corps’ mission: To help each child who comes to Math Corps realize their own greatness.

Trainers are responsible for helping to ensure that each and every child in their class (1) has a safe, rewarding, enjoyable and academically successful experience and (2) learns and develops the values, habits, and attitudes essential for long-term success.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Attend each scheduled program day
  • Supervise students as needed
  • Teach math courses as assigned
  • Submit a weekly report to the Dean/Program Coordinator
  • Grade all homework daily and review
  • Grade all quizzes each Thursday and submit grades ASAP
  • Grade Final Exam
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Experience teaching middle and high school mathematics.
  • Experience supervising middle and high school students.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Commitment to serve culturally and ethnically diverse students.
  • Commitment to serve culturally and ethnically diverse schools.
