Position Summary: A bus driver will be responsible for providing transportation services for various campus constituents via the Wingate University bus, a 30-passenger vehicle requiring a commercial driver’s license. This position is required to adhere to safe driving practices, CDL requirements, preform bus inspections, and provide customer service for constituents.

  • Adhere to all CDL protocols, safe driving practices, and all state and federal laws.

  • Complete bus inspections prior to each trip, pick up and drop off passengers at designated locations, follow planned itinerary and routes, and assist passengers with equipment / luggage and any disability needs.

  • Ensure proper information is recorded on Bus Driver logs, alert the Campus Operations Manager of any concerns with the bus or equipment within, track mileage, and utilize the University Corporate credit card as needed for gas or emergencies.

  • Communicate effectively with the Campus Operations Manager and trip leaders.

  • Regular, predictable attendance on campus.

  • Alignment with University mission, vision, and strategic roadmap.

  • Other job duties/responsibilities may be assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License and relative driving experiences.

  • Up-to-date DOT Medical Examiner’s Certificate.

  • Participation and pass in DOT Drug Screenings.

Education and Experience:
  • +5 year of a safe driving record.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for 3+ hours.

  • Ability to lift 20-50 lbs of equipment / luggage.
