Position Summary:
Wingate University is seeking a part-time adjunct professor for a developing asynchronous Doctor of Medical Science for physician assistants. Position includes course coordination, content development, and management of research and Capstone-based courses (3 semesters). Candidates should be a clinician with a doctoral-level degree. Minimal 3 years of graduate-level teaching experience preferred. Preferred candidate to start June 2024. Student matriculation begins in August 2024. Non-tenure track. Compensation commensurate with experience.
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Seeking a remote or on-campus position. Remote employees should
plan on attending campus at least 2 times per academic year.
- Course coordinator for 3 sequential courses in Research and
Capstone.
- Able to work collegially, build relationships, and take
initiative when appropriate. Can foster relationships in an
asynchronous, online environment.
- Demonstrates responsiveness to student questions and providing
feedback.
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication
skills; ability to work, listen, advocate, and problem-solve with
students and peers.
- Supports the ongoing design, evaluation, and enhancement of the
curriculum.
- Alignment with the University mission, vision, and strategic
roadmap.
- Able to use learning management software (Canvas)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Google Suite
- Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication
skills.
- Able to effectively engage with students in an online,
asynchronous environment.
- Doctoral degree required (e.g. DMSc, PhD, DHSc, MD, DO,
EdD)
- Graduated from an accredited PA program
- Record of success in teaching
- Prior online teaching experience preferred
- Prolonged sitting or standing
