Reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor for Enrollment Management (VCEM), who reports to the Chancellor, the Registrar will successfully partner across campus to coordinate university-wide registration operations and data management.

UNCG is a public, coeducational, doctoral-granting, residential university and one of the three original institutions of the University of North Carolina System. The University holds two classifications from the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching - as a "doctoral university with higher-research activity" and for deep "community engagement" in its curriculum, outreach, and partnerships. With an enrollment of just over 17,700 students, including almost 3,600 graduate students, students of color make up more than half of the student body. UNCG is considered one of the most diverse universities in the UNC System and is designated an MSI and an Emerging HSI.

The University Registrar oversees a portfolio of responsibilities focusing on advancing student success initiatives, supporting the academic enterprise through strong and collaborative relationships, and promoting the University's overall mission. They will be an experienced and forward-looking registrar leader with a record of consensus building, an ability to build sustaining and effective relationships with faculty, staff, students, and University leadership, and a deep familiarity with trends and challenges in the field. Success in this role requires an effective communicator and thought partner with demonstrated experience within a similarly complex higher education setting.

The University Registrar’s Office places service to students and faculty first among its priorities, recognizing these persons as the Office’s primary constituency. The Registrar provides information and actionable data to shape institutional and divisional discussions, trends, policies, processes, and strategic practices in support and advancement of the academic mission. The office provides data for internal and external reporting, assists colleges and departments by furnishing needed data and other services, assists the faculty wherever possible, and renders services to the alumni by providing transcripts and certifications and other records needed.

The Registrar will have two direct reports; a Senior Associate Registrar and an Associate Registrar.
