This position will coordinate the office and administrative needs of the Accessibility Services team at Stonehill College and provide support to the students who receive accommodations. The coordinator will communicate with students, faculty, and families who visit the office, who email, or who call with questions or concerns. As part of the Navigation Center for Student Success, this position joins a team committed to the success of each student at Stonehill.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Office Administration:

  • Manage the phone and email for the Accessibility Services Office, utilizing excellent communication skills to answer questions and direct inquiries appropriately.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for all visitors to the busy office.
  • Schedule appointments for students needing to meet with the accessibility team.
  • Track data including student activity for appointments and drop-in hours.
  • Maintain the AIM (Accessible Information Management LLC) database by recording student visits, entering notes from student intakes, and running reports. Manage incoming requests for housing accommodations by compiling applications and medical documentation for the Housing Committee to review.

Student Supervision

  • Manage 30+ student workers.
  • Recruit, train & supervise student-employees as proctors, note-takers, and front desk staff.
  • Approve timecards and all schedule changes for student employees.
  • Ensure peer notetakers are uploading accurate notes to AIM within 48 hours of class periods.

Exam Proctoring

  • Manage the exam proctoring process including scheduling exams for students and scheduling proctors. May occasionally need to proctor exams.
  • Securely receive and return exams to professors.
  • Address faculty and student concerns/questions regarding exams.

Assistive Technology

  • Manage assistive technology equipment inventory.
  • Research and provide alternative format materials for students, including scanning textbooks or exams as necessary.
  • Meet with students approved for assistive technologies as assist with setup (i.e., providing access/license code for software). Answer questions for students to troubleshoot issues such as error messages, ordering replacement parts, etc.

Direct Service

  • Manage concussion protocol including providing students with temporary accommodations.
  • Triage student concerns, recognizing students in distress and referring them appropriately.
  • Manage template emails to communicate regularly with all registered students, encouraging them to send Letters of Accommodation to faculty, attend drop-in hours, and sign up for exam proctoring.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in education, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, Special Education, Higher Education Administration, or a related field. Experience working with students with learning differences, mental health, or other disabilities. Demonstrated commitment and experience working with diverse populations in multicultural settings.
