Job Description:
The Department of History in the College of Social and Behavioral Science (CSBS) at Weber State University invites applications for a tenure-track Historian of the United States and Concurrent Enrollment (CE) and CSBS Associate’s Degree Program Supervisor at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning no later than August 1, 2024, or January 1, 2025. Preference given to candidates with CE and program supervising experience, who can also offer courses in support of the Religious Studies minor and upper-level courses in US early national period, Civil War, and Utah history.

Job Duties:
The teaching load is four courses per semester with two courses each semester fulfilled by History Concurrent Enrollment supervision, advising other departments and faculty in CSBS on their Concurrent Enrollment offerings, and helping supervise the new Associate’s Degree Program in CSBS. The candidate will routinely offer Gen Ed U.S. courses as well as other upper division courses in their area of History specialization as scheduled.

Required Qualifications:
PhD in History is required prior to appointment. ABD candidates may apply, however, the PhD must be in hand by August 1, 2024, or January 1, 2025, depending on contract start date.

Preferred Qualifications:
A candidate with experience supervising the operation and supervision of Concurrent Enrollment history education; ability to teach upper-level courses in early American history, Civil War, and Utah history; ability to offer interdisciplinary courses in Social and Behavioral Sciences, with a preference for courses supporting the Religious Studies minor program.
