Responsibilities include teaching a variety of courses within our two CACREP-accredited programs in Marriage, Couple, and Family Counseling and Clinical Mental Health Counseling. The teaching load includes four (4) courses per fall and spring semesters with additional teaching opportunities contracted separately in the summer semester.

The graduate program of the Department of Counselor Education ( consists of six full-time faculty members and is dedicated to preparing counselor education students to be ethically informed; developing a keen awareness of their personal strengths and resiliency; further developing an appreciation for cultural diversity, critical thinking, and creative expression; and having a deep commitment to the counseling profession and community as a whole. Our commitment is to produce stellar graduates whose work centers on helping individuals, couples, and families in a diverse world. Our faculty are engaged in initiatives that include externally funded grant activities (HRSA and The John Templeton Foundation), leadership within the American Counseling Association, collaborative work across departments within the University to enhance the health and wellbeing of our community, and local and international work centered on the development of culturally sensitive programs and interventions for vulnerable populations. These initiatives create unique and exciting opportunities for our students and for the individuals who will be joining our team.
