The Massry School of Business is AACSB accredited in both business and accounting and offers a supportive environment for research with teaching loads and research support competitive with other major research universities. Our Information Systems and Business Analytics faculty are research-active with publications and editorial positions in top-tier IS, Simulation, and Business outlets, including Information Systems Research, MISQ, EJIS, CAIS, JAIS, JBR, Expert Systems with Applications and various IEEE and ACM publications. The School of Business offers degrees at the bachelor's and master's levels and is an active participant in the University's PhD program in Information Science.
Job Description:
The Massry School of Business, University at Albany is seeking applicants for a PRODiG+ Postdoctoral Fellowship to support our diverse population of Business Analytics and Artificial Intelligence professionals. The Fellowship is for two years, with a teaching obligation of one course per semester in the area of the Fellow’s research specialization. The area of specialization should fall into the strengths of the department: Application of emerging analytical techniques to business problems. The Fellow will work with school faculty to advance their personal research portfolio with publications in applications of analytics and AI in business.
Primary Responsibilities:
Research
Continuing efforts on existing and new research opportunities are expected, resulting in acceptance of at least one A-level publication during the position. The post-doctorate associate will participate in the ISBA faculty seminar series and work with senior faculty on the development of their personal research agenda.
The post-doctoral associate will also collaborate with other faculty in the Massry School of Business as well as the Interdisciplinary PhD program in Information Science. These combined faculties conduct qualitative and quantitative research across a broad spectrum of domains.
Teaching
The post-doctoral associate will teach information systems, analytics, or AI courses equivalent to a half-time academic load. The assignment will be part of our MS in Business Analytics, MBA, or undergraduate ISBA teaching. Face-to-face teaching is the expected modality on campus. The associate will be mentored by experienced faculty and will have access to campus resources for skill development.
The Fellowship is part of the SUNY-wide PRODiG+ initiative which aims to: 1) increase the system's number and share of excellent diverse faculty committed to advancing the ideals of diversity, equity, and inclusion and 2) strengthen the retention and support for these faculty. Through the PRODiG+ program, SUNY expects to generate a pipeline of over 400 postdoctoral fellows to enter tenure-track faculty positions over the next 10 years. Eligible candidates should demonstrate personal, academic, and/or work experience engaging with diversity, equity, and inclusion and/or a commitment to facilitating and enhancing diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts in the campus community.
