Job Summary

The incumbent is a professional responsible for managing asset inventory to include fleet vehicles within the College of Agriculture and Applied Sciences.

  • Knowledge of inventory and fleet management best practices
  • Knowledge of word processor, database, and spreadsheet software
  • Excellent inventory management skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal, written, and interpersonal
  • Ability to make independent professional judgments with integrity
  • Ability to work cooperatively with staff, students, faculty, administrators, and other stakeholders with limited direct supervision
Essential Job Functions
  • Assigns faculty and staff
  • Evaluates, manages, and keeps track of all equipment
  • Controls the flow of supplies and equipment
  • Conducts audits of all equipment, including farm and scientific
  • Tracks inventory maintenance for safety reasons
  • Manages vehicle fleet
  • Develops and implements preventive maintenance programs to ensure the safety and reliability of the fleet
  • Coordinates with vendors and service providers to schedule and oversee vehicle repairs and maintenance activities
  • Develops and implements policies and procedures related to fleet operations, safety, and compliance
  • Provides training and support to drivers and other fleet personnel to ensure adherence to company policies and procedures
  • Communicates with management about any inventory issues
  • Works with management if products are missing or damaged within a shipment.
  • Develops protocols to mitigate loss if something ever happens, like force, or theft at the workplace.
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma
  • Three (3) years’ experience in the field
