Director of Transformative Technology for Business and Society

The Director will play a strategic role in steering the organization through the complexities of integrating digital technologies into all areas of the College. Responsibilities encompass guiding the digital change agenda, fostering innovation, and facilitating a culture that embraces digital advancements, promoting curricular integration with technological advancements, etc.

Job Duties
  • Lead the development and implementation of a comprehensive digital transformation strategy that aligns with the College’s strategy.
  • Support faculty as they integrate curriculum with digital, analytics, AI, and other cutting-edge technology.
  • Oversee the integration of new digital technologies across all departments, ensuring seamless operations and enhanced productivity.
  • Lead a newly created Transformative Technology Center that networks with other MU academic units and other Trulaske Centers.
  • Collaborate with IT and cybersecurity teams to ensure the digital infrastructure is secure, resilient, and compliant with university regulations.
  • Manage cross-functional teams in the design and execution of digital projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
  • Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement, encouraging the adoption of digital best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Evaluate and select technology vendors and partners, negotiating contracts to achieve favorable terms and ensure the delivery of high-quality services.
  • Measure the impact of digital initiatives, adjusting strategies as necessary to maximize results.
  • Advocate for digital literacy and competency across the organization, organizing training and development programs for faculty, staff, and students.
Job Requirements

Education: A bachelor’s degree in fields like Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology, or Educational Technology. Coursework on digital strategy, data analytics, leadership, and change management is preferred.

Experience: Experience in leading digital change initiatives, managing cross-functional teams, and implementing technology solutions across various departments is crucial. Exposure to agile methodologies, digital innovation practices, and a track record of successful digital project delivery are essential. Continuous professional development through workshops, seminars, and relevant training courses in emerging digital technologies and transformation strategies is also expected to keep pace with the rapidly evolving digital landscape.

Director of Transformative Technology Skills

Change Management: Director guides organization through the adoption of new digital technologies, aligning workforce and processes with the digital future. Director adeptly overcomes resistance, fosters a culture of innovation, and integrates new systems with minimal disruption.

Digital Strategy Development: Director will craft a roadmap that aligns technology initiatives with the College’s strategy and academic programs to foster innovation and competitive advantage for student career readiness. It requires meticulous planning, stakeholder engagement, and continuous evaluation of digital tools to meet the organization’s evolving needs.

Agile Project Management: A flexible and iterative approach allows rapid adaptation to digital trends and customer needs, keeping projects aligned with strategic objectives. This skill enhances collaboration across teams, driving successful digital transformation initiatives.

Data Analytics: Harnessing data-driven insights will enable the Directors to identify trends and make informed decisions. Strategies crafted from empirical evidence ensure digital initiatives are effective and aligned with the company’s goals.

Technology Integration: Blending new digital tools into existing processes demands a strategic approach for smooth adoption. Identifying synergies between technology and the College’s strategy facilitates a cohesive digital ecosystem that drives innovation and efficiency.

Shift

Monday - Friday, 8AM-5PM, 40 hours per week.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 6 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $78,562 - $145,000 annually

Grade: GGS-13
