Position Description

The Accounts Payable Specialist will be responsible for high volume, detailed processing of invoices or payments. They will process and assist in credit card reconciliations. Must be organized, experienced managing high volume, detail oriented and ability to multitask.

Position Responsibilities
  • Support the Accounts Payable Manager with the account payables operations including control systems, transaction-processing operations, vendor relationships, and policies and procedures
  • Ensure Vendor accounts are kept current to our best ability.
  • Prepare and maintains all Accounts Payable files and ensure reports are accurate and have proper supporting documentation
  • Responsible for Invoice processing and Payment Requests processing
  • Acts as liaison between the Payable Department and other functional areas
  • Ensure that Payables are disbursed accurately and in a timely manner
  • Provide backup support for check processing
  • Responsible for cash receipting including resolving general ledger account issues
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Assist with audits as necessary
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Assist in other accounting projects, as necessary
  • Work with the accounting and finance teams to identify and resolve issues.
  • Excellent analytical and reporting skills
  • Organizing and preparing year end files for archiving.
  • Other general office duties that may arise that are not outlined in this description.

Qualifications
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Knowledge of computer and office equipment and programs; proficiency in computer usage including accounting software, MS Office applications (MS Office Word, Excel and Outlook)
  • Excellent time-management skills; ability to effectively plan and prioritize
  • Ability to focus; attention to detail
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including anticipatory thinking and the ability to work well under pressure while maintaining a calm composure
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality with absolute reliability and honesty; high level of integrity, and strong work ethic
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external parties, clearly and calmly
  • Ability to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices
