Summary of Job Duties:Child Care Technical Assistance Coordinator works with the Family Life Team to coordinate implementation of child care professional development training assistance.

This position provides direct assistance to child care providers, center directors, and other staff, should be knowledgeable of DHS state minimum licensing guidance, Better Beginnings criteria, and the state of the child care field.

The Program Technician must be comfortable working with people in a child care setting.

The Program Technician assists in conducting various technical activities in an assigned program area under the direction of an Extension faculty member, Program Associate, or Project Leader.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor's degree in early childhood education, family and consumer science, or a related area of study is required. Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license. Must be able to pass a child maltreatment check and criminal background check.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working in an early childhood education or child care setting.

Experience providing technical assistance within a child care setting.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Proficiency in computer programs such as Microsoft Office applications, data management, & email. Good oral & written communication skills. Ability to plan, organize, & prioritize work from multiple projects. Ability to exercise initiative, make sound judgments, & assume responsibility for various projects & activities. Ability to respond positively to direction from supervisors & work without direct supervision. Ability to remain focused & exercise close attention to detail.
