Purpose of Position
Directing the planning, implementation, delivery, and evaluation of University efforts to promote student wellness, health, and informed decision-making within a co-curricular model. These efforts include and are not limited to programs on holistic wellness, alcohol and other drug prevention, health promotion, creation and implementation of campus-wide student wellness initiatives, supervision of student staff members assigned to provide wellness education, prevention, and service programs, and providing training and education for the campus community.
This position provides strategic leadership and direction utilizing empirically-based practices to reduce high-risk health behaviors and increase student well-being.
Primary Responsibilities
Master’s Degree in Higher Education/Student Affairs, Social Work, Counseling, Health Science, Health Educator, Crisis Response Training, Health Care Administration, Nursing Education, or a comparable field.
Very strong communication, interpersonal, and intercultural skills are required.
Basic computer skills and knowledge, data analysis skills, marketing/promotion skills, public speaking skills, public relations skills, leadership skills, working knowledge of general age-related health parameters and screenings, and knowledge of conditions commonly seen in college students ( HIV, STIs, obesity, ETOH abuse, etc.).
Experience writing and managing grants preferred.

- Plan, develop, implement, and direct the activities,
programming, and initiatives related to Student Wellness. Assist
with the creation of a culture of wellness for students and
collaborate with other campus offices and community partners on
ways to promote the wellness curriculum for the office.
- Supervise, support, and develop student leaders, including a
group of wellness peer ambassadors
- Prepare and edit marketing reports and/or newsletters and
develop publication materials, website, and social media
strategy/content for office-related initiatives
- Evaluate program/learning outcomes and maintain data related to
student wellness and unit strategic initiatives.
- Assist with university coalitions that promote partnerships
among university and community constituents for the promotion of
wellness and informed decision-making
- Budgetary and administrative functions as head of a
department
- Other duties as aligned with NKU’s mission and unit strategic goals.
