Job Description

The School of Nursing (SON) at the University of Indianapolis welcomes applications for an Administrative Assistant to the Associate Dean and SON. This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week, non-exempt position. This position works closely with the SON leadership team and other administrative professionals to provide support for the SON.

Responsibilities and Qualifications- Administrative Assistant
  • Excellent communication and customer relations (including oral and written) is required.
  • Maintaining confidentiality is critical.
  • Elevated computer skills are essential.
  • Proficiency in MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Google Drive Suite, and Customer Relations Management software is mandatory.
  • Project management experience is a plus.
  • Must be able to work independently and with minimum supervision.
  • Attendance and punctuality are necessary to consistently be at work and on time including arrives at meetings and appointments on time.
  • Adapt to changing assignments, multiple priorities, and crucial due dates.
  • Possess skills in maintaining records and assisting with accounting, payroll, and budget management.
  • Additional duties may include collecting information and preparing programs for recognition ceremonies, maintaining student files, and organizing end-of-semester course evaluations and summaries.
  • This individual performs administrative tasks such as managing calendars, booking travel, scheduling facilities and equipment, and coordinating budgets, all under the direction of the Associate Dean, School of Nursing.
  • Serves as a first point of contact for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
  • This position works closely with the SON leadership team and other administrative professionals to provide support for the SON.
  • Ability to oversee and coordinate special projects as they are assigned.
