Position Summary
Under the direct supervision of the Pool Director, this position patrols the pool area to enforce safety rules.
Salary
$16.85 per hour. LRCCD Salary Schedules

Benefits
Temporary employees earn 1 hour of sick leave for every 30 hours worked, up to a maximum of 48 hours.
Assignment Responsibilities
Overseeing activities at an aquatic facility. Explaining and enforcing rules, regulations, and policies to ensure the safety of patrons. Monitoring designated areas to recognize signs of danger. Warning swimmers regarding unsafe situations. Maintaining order in swimming areas. Responding to emergencies and rescuing swimmers in danger of drowning. Performing first aid procedures. Maintaining cleanliness and orderliness of all areas. Maintaining records and reports.

Special Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
Experience/Education:
Current CPR / AED for Lifeguards training (accepted cards: CPR / AED for lifeguards; OR, CPR for the Professional Rescuer; OR, ProCPR with AED ; or equivalent card); AND Current First Aid Training for Lifeguards (Examples of accepted cards: Lifeguarding/First Aid; OR, Lifeguarding Training and First Aid; OR, Title 22 – First Aid for Public Safety Personnel AND Lifeguarding; OR, EMT AND Lifeguarding; or equivalent card.
Have an equity-minded focus, responsiveness, and sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, including those with physical or learning disabilities as it relates to differences in learning styles; and successfully foster and support an inclusive educational and employment environment.
(Experience Requirement: One year of experience is equal to 12 months of experience at 40 hours per week. Applicable part-time experience will be converted to the full-time equivalent for purposes of meeting the experience requirement. Education Requirement: 30 semester units are equal to one year of education.)
