The Lewis & Clark College Department of Music invites applications for the position of Adjunct Faculty for Applied Lessons in Vihuela, to begin Fall 2023. Responsibilities will include teaching private lessons for a vihuela studio that typically ranges from 1-5 students and participating in juries of vihuela students. Music adjunct faculty members are paid on a fee-for-service (hourly) basis; the position does not carry benefits, but adjunct faculty have access to Lewis & Clark’s campus and faculty privileges. Adjunct Faculty are expected to be responsible and responsive members of the music department. Additional stipends are available for adjunct faculty who choose to perform in faculty ensembles, offer sample lessons to prospective students, coach sectionals, adjudicate juries, and prepare students for degree recitals.

The successful applicant will have an active performing career and have substantial experience in vihuela teaching. Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

Eligibility to Work
