Department of Sociology and Anthropology

The Agnes Scott College Department of Sociology and Anthropology is seeking one or more part-time instructors to teach three courses in Fall, 2024. The courses will be two sections of introductory cultural anthropology, and an upper level course entitled “Anthropology of Violence” (cross-listed with Public Health). The successful applicant will have a minimum of a master’s degree in Anthropology or be ABD in a Ph.D. program, with experience teaching a diverse student body, and will share the department’s commitment to examining social inequalities, such as those based on race, gender, sexuality, language, socioeconomic class, and national origin.

Candidates selected for an interview will be asked to provide sample teaching evaluations and other evidence of excellence in teaching at the college level. Graduate transcripts will be required before hiring.
