CBC seeks a Director for Strategic Planning & Priorities who will lead the ongoing development, integration, and implementation of strategic planning at Columbia Basin College. The Director plays a pivotal role in ensuring the College's strategic priorities are implemented and aligned with its mission, vision, and values, and designation as a Hispanic Serving Institution. The Director leads the development and implementation of the strategic priorities of the President’s Office. The Director collaborates with a diverse range of constituents to drive the college's short and long-term planning processes, facilitate cross-functional communication and collaboration, and track the progress of strategic initiatives.
The Director operates as a critical thought leader and strategic advisor for the College President and Cabinet. The Director plays a key role in advancing the “Yes, And” culture and DEI values of the institution. This position reports to the President of the College.

Primary Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Lead the College's strategic planning processes that integrate program review, division planning, department planning, and college-wide planning. Ensure strategic plans and priorities align with the College’s mission, vision, and values, and designation as a Hispanic Serving Institution. Oversee the implementation and execution of strategic projects and priorities as determined by the President, ensuring timelines and deliverables are met, and report progress to Cabinet.
- Integrated Planning: Coordinate the development, integration, and implementation of annual and long-range plans and goals and assessment processes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the President's Office, Cabinet, faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to identify and prioritize strategic initiatives.
- Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data to assess the effectiveness of strategic plans, identify trends, and make data-driven recommendations for improvement.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate transparent communication and collaboration among various College departments, fostering a “Yes, And” culture.
- Communication: Develop a communication plan to include regular reports and presentations for Cabinet, Shared Governance Councils, and other key constituents, summarizing strategic planning progress and outcomes.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements in strategic and integrated planning and implement best practices to enhance effectiveness.
- External Relations: Represent the College and the President’s Office in meetings with internal and external partners and constituents to promote strategic initiatives and foster relationships.
- Compliance: Ensure that planning processes comply with relevant regulations, accreditation standards, and College policies.
- Other: Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree from an institutionally accredited college or university;
- Five (5) years of experience in strategic planning, project management, or a related role; and
- Experience with project management tools and software.
- Master’s Degree from an institutionally accredited college or university;
- Direct experience with strategic planning and project management in higher education.; and
- Experience leading large organization-wide strategic planning.

Terms of Employment
This is a full-time, overtime exempt, administrative staff position. The typical work hours for this position are Monday through Thursday 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Friday 7:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.; however, work hours will vary due to work demands (this will include evening and weekend work as required).

WORKING CONDITIONS
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach and manipulate objects. The position requires mobility including having the ability to move materials on a regular basis such as files, books, office equipment, etc. and travel between buildings on campus. Manual dexterity and coordination are required to operate equipment such as computer keyboard, calculator, and standard office equipment.
Work environment includes office and other settings as appropriate. It is a fast paced and sometimes stressful service environment. The noise level in the work area is typical of most office environments with telephones, personal interruptions, and background noises. This position has an occasional need for travel.
