POSITION: DIRECTOR, NPTNJ- TEMPORARY
LOCATION: LITERACY EDUCATION
RESPONSIBILITIES: The department of Literacy invites applications for a full-time, 12-month temporary appointment as Director of the New Pathways to Teaching in New Jersey Program.
· Advise students and assist with registration as needed
· Participate in assessment activities to assist students in achieving designated course objectives or learning outcomes
· Develop and access course curriculum and instructional materials
· Coordinate New Pathways to Teaching in New Jersey (NPTNJ) Program
· Manage and support adjunct faculty for NPTNJ program
· Organize orientations for students and staff
· Advise all NPTNJ students
· Maintain schedule of NPTNJ program
· Review and respond to graduation/completion audits
· Support comprehensive assessment plan and all accreditation initiatives
· Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION : Bachelor's degree from accredited university
EXPERIENCE: A minimum of five years of experience in higher education
REQUIREMENTS:
· Teaching and/or training experience that incorporates collaborative and active learning strategies
· Demonstrated technological skills and abilities
· Ability to cultivate and effectively work with external constituencies
· Excellent communication skills
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Experience with student centered teaching and learning methodology
· College level instruction experience
· Commitment to diversity among faculty, staff, and students
