Job Summary

Develops research projects and is responsible for scientific design, conduct and interpretation, presenting results and publishing manuscripts.

Essential Functions1. Develops scientific research projects and acts as a principal investigator or co-principal investigator.2. Researches and stays current with project related scientific literature.3. Sets up new methods or assays to accomplish scientific objectives.4. Identifies and implements creative solutions to overcome problems.5. Organizes, interprets data and derives study conclusions.6. Manages and trains research staff to achieve research goals.7. Collaborates with internal and external investigators on multiple research projects ensuring scientific significance and feasibility.8. Summarizes results of clinical studies in the form of scientific abstracts and manuscripts.9. Serves as a resource to provide clinical and scientific information needed for various initiatives.10. Contributes to teaching activities by preparing and presenting educational seminars.11. Assists with grant preparation by researching background, significance and planning statistics.12. Attends national conferences and presents results of clinical studies.13. Maintain and culture cancer cell lines and organoids14. Perform experiments to evaluate drug efficacy and toxicity15. Prepare and maintain laboratory reagents and supplies16. Record and analyze experimental data17. Contribute to the preparation of scientific manuscripts, posters, and presentations18. Maintain a clean and organized laboratory environment19. Follow laboratory safety protocols and procedures20. Performs and directs specialized and complex lab tests, experiments and surgical procedures for studies.21. Assists the Principal Investigator in the design, implementation and performance of new protocols and procedures as well as the modification of existing techniques.22. Reviews scientific journals, abstracts and other literature for information concerning experimental procedures.23. Makes advanced statistical calculations, analyzes data and prepares reports summarizing research results.24. Operates complex and highly specialized laboratory and surgical instruments and equipment. Instructs others in their use.25. Maintains a log of supplies used in procedures.26. Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements. Eg. IACUC, IBC.27. May supervise, train and review the work of laboratory personnel.28. May prepare equipment and rooms for studies.29. May assist with preparing budgets.
Problem Solving This position may be involved with problems requiring modifications of scientific methods. This position is required to efficiently manage several research coordinators and associates as well as to allocate resources to address the needs of ongoing clinical trials.

Physical Requirements and Level of Frequency that is be requiredNearly Continuously: Sitting, hearing, listening, talking, repetitive hand motion (such as tissue culture, mouse handling, typing), walking.Often: Bending, reaching overhead, lifting up to 5kg.

Work Hours and FlexibilityAs part of our dynamic and dedicated team, you may be required to work outside of regular business hours on occasion to meet critical deadlines or respond to urgent situations. This could include working evenings, weekends, or holidays, depending on the needs of the company and our clients.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in biology, chemistry or other scientific discipline in a related field plus four years of experience or equivalency (one year of education can be substituted for two years of related work experience) required. Demonstrated human relations and effective communication skills also required.
