Bergen Community College is hiring a full-time faculty member in the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program that includes didactic, clinical, laboratory, simulation, and online teaching to serve as the clinical coordinator of the program.

Position begins in September 2024 at our Paramus campus.

POSITION SUMMARY

Provide instruction as a Full-time faculty member and clinical coordinator for the Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.

This includes:

  • Collaborating with the program director to manage clinical program operations including accreditation documentation and reporting
  • Assisting the Program Director with JRC DMS accreditation documentation and reporting
  • Teaching responsibilities in the classroom/didactic/lab /online/clinical instruction, and/or participation in clinical laboratory simulations
  • Collaborating with the program director to prepare the Diagnostic Medical Sonography clinical faculty teaching assignments
  • Collaborating with the program director on student clinical assignments.
  • Collaborating with faculty to assure that all students perform and demonstrate competence in all required skills prior to the completion of the program.
  • Participating in course and program level assessment.
  • Participating in scholarly activity and involvement in departmental, college and community service as part of the tenure process
  • Demonstrated experience with the Trajectsus clinical monitoring and evaluation system
  • Participating in professional development activities

SPECIAL SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • Minimum of Bachelors’ degree and Diagnostic Medical Sonography credential. 
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) Certification. 
  • RDMS Certification – both Abdomen and OB/GYN Certification. 
  • RVT certification preferred
  • Graduate of a CAAHEP accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program

Experience: 

  • Minimum 3 years of current experience as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer
  • Minimum 1 year of current teaching experience in a JRC DMS accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography program

  • Knowledge of competency-based education
  • Experience or willingness to learn the technology to incorporate the learning management system of the College (CANVAS) and simulation to enhance student learning objectives and program assessment outcomes
  • Availability to teach day and evening classes
  • Commitment to continuous assessment of the teaching and learning process and outcomes
  • Commitment to continual professional growth and development
