Work Schedule, Hours per week: Varies depending on department needs, 20 hours per week

Pay Range: $15.00

Position Summary: The Student Office Assistant performs reception and greeting functions for various Student Life areas, serving as an initial contact for students, community members and faculty and performs general reception and office duties.

Required Qualifications: • High School diploma/Equivalent or dually enrolled
• Must have a minimum of a 2.0 cumulative collegiate gpa
• Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours at JCCC
• Professionalism, customer service skills and the ability to multitask
• Proper phone, writing and in-person office etiquette skills
• General computer knowledge and basic knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:
  • Front desk and first point of contact a. Performs reception and greeting functions. b. Serves as the initial contact for JCCC students, community members and faculty in the Student Life areas. c. Provides referrals to main campus services and disseminates general information to the students and faculty d. Creates a welcoming and professional atmosphere e. Performs front desk functions such as utilizing check-in/out systems, answering phones, and utilizing other JCCC computer based systems and procedures
  • Teamwork and Cooperation a. Collegial relationships are maintained within the division and community b. Collaborative solutions to localized department issues are resolved
  • Customer Focus a. Excellent interpersonal skills with internal and external stakeholders are fostered b. Willingness to help others c. Conflicts, problems and needs are appropriately defused, resolved and/or prioritized d. Confidentiality is maintained
