Type of Position: Full-time Salaried, Exempt

Work Schedule, Hours per week: Varies depending on department needs, 40 hours per week

Pay Range: $37,200 to $47,600 and determined based on relevant years of work experience.

Position Summary: Assist the Johnson County Community College (JCCC) Head Men's Basketball Coach in all aspects of the collegiate basketball program, including academics, coaching, scouting, recruiting, inventory maintenance, travel, and film exchange.

Required Qualifications: Requires moderate skill set and proficiency in discipline. Conducts work assignments of increasing complexity, under moderate supervision with some latitude for independent judgment. Requires a bachelor's degree and 4+ years of relevant experience.

Position Details: Job duties include but are not limited to:
  • Evaluate and recruit high-quality competitive athletes across the US to the JCCC basketball program.
  • Assist in coordinating and scheduling on-campus JCCC visits for recruiting prospects.
  • Track and manage program schedules, expenses, and purchases for hotels, meals, and transportation.
  • Assist in developing student-athletes who will successfully represent JCCC academically, athletically, and socially within the community.
  • Assist the Head Coach with executing practice drills, strength and conditioning programs, and coaching top performance during games.
  • Manage the HUDL software program account and utilize the tools provided to track and review game footage and scouting to improve team play.
  • Manage and utilize the Synergy software program to share valuable sports data, video clips, and visual statistics about players, teams, and games with the Head Coach.
  • Coordinate the procurement, maintenance, and organization of all uniforms, equipment, and gear.
  • Promote the Basketball program by planning community engagement events and selecting opportunities for team service projects.
  • Monitor academic progress and status of team athletes and assist in attending student study table groups when needed.
  • Maintain accurate records, statistics, and documentation related to all aspects of the players and program and produce status reports or presentations as needed.
  • Assist with social media presence by posting game day information, scores, awards, and player highlights on various channels.
