Advising Coordinator, Graduate Business Programs

Position Summary:

Guided by our Catholic, Marianist identity as a University for the Common Good, Advising Coordinators provide mission-centric academic advising by assisting students in creating an educational plan designed to foster academic achievement, in navigating their academic, social and wellness journeys while fostering belonging, enhancing agency and engagement inside and outside the classroom, and by encouraging the identification and pursuit of vocational goals. This position will have three primary functions. This position will:
• This position is responsible for resolving questions or directing the person to the appropriate staff member or department and supports the graduate programs by being responsible for daily administrative tasks.
• Advise prospective and incoming students with questions regarding enrollment confirmation, next steps, registration. This position will also create graduation plans for new students.
• Assist in the operations of SBA graduate programs, including, but not limited to, general student support with degree plans, scheduling, campus resources, billing issues, account holds, and program withdrawal/readmission.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree
• At least 3 years of experience working in a professional environment
• Experience with students and faculty in higher education
• Excellent skills with Microsoft Office suite of products and Adobe Acrobat
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks
• Ability to work with limited supervision
• High quality written and oral communication skills
• Excellent skills in proofreading and business communication editing
• High level of detail orientation
• Customer service skills
• Experience working with confidential data

Preferred Qualifications:

While not everyone may possess all of the preferred qualifications, the ideal candidate will bring many of the following:

• Master’s Degree
• Proficiency with University systems such as Banner, Cognos, DegreeWorks, Salesforce, CIM, Runway, Cascade, etc.
• Experience in graduate higher education
• Experience with marketing campaigns
