The SmartHOME Coordinator is an integral member of the Math and Computer Science department at Claflin University, reporting to the Program/SmartHOME Manager. This role is responsible for effectively coordinating and overseeing activities related to the SmartHOME and Claflin University (CU) - DEEP Wellness Initiative. The SmartHOME Coordinator will play a crucial role in executing tasks, implementing programs, collaborating with the CU DEEP team, and ensuring the successful planning and execution of grant activities. Additionally, they will actively contribute to grant evaluation and reporting processes. The SmartHOME Coordinator will primarily work on-site at Claflin University, with occasional off-site activities and meetings. This position may require flexibility in working hours to accommodate evening or weekend events. Occasional travel may be necessary to attend conferences, workshops, or meetings with external partners.
Key Responsibilities
Program Coordination:
- Collaborate with the Program/SmartHOME Manager to design and execute SmartHOME and CU - DEEP Wellness Initiative activities.
- Ensure all activities align with program goals, objectives, and timelines.
- Oversee the logistical aspects of events, workshops, and initiatives.
- Work closely with the CU DEEP team, fostering a collaborative and productive working relationship.
- Maintain open lines of communication with internal and external stakeholders.
- Assist in building partnerships with relevant organizations and entities to support program goals.
- Actively participate in the execution of tasks related to program development, implementation, and administration.
- Assist in monitoring project progress, addressing challenges, and implementing solutions as needed.
- Support the SmartHOME and CU - DEEP team in grant management activities.
- Contribute to the preparation of grant proposals, budgets, and reports.
- Assist in tracking grant funds, expenditures, and compliance with grant requirements.
- Collaborate with the evaluation team to assess the impact of grant-funded programs and initiatives.
- Compile and analyze data to prepare reports for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure that grant-related reporting deadlines are met.
Bachelor's degree in a related field (Mathematics, Computer Science, Education, etc.). Master's degree is preferred. Strong organizational and project management skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities. Ability to work effectively within a team and independently. Experience with grant management and reporting is a plus. Familiarity with smart technologies and wellness initiatives is desirable.
