The College of Education at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS) will establish and maintain a pool of Lecturers in the Counseling and Leadership program from which future appointments to temporary, non-tenure track positions will be made. Appointments are part-time (less than 50% time) and will be made semester-by-semester.
This position will teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses in the Department of Counseling and Human Services Air Officer Commanding%5C (AOC) Cohort and/or the Academy Military Training (AMT) Leader and Leadership Development Certification Program. Possible courses include, Characteristics of the Effective Leader, Leading Teams and Organizations, Leading Diversity, College Student Development, Counseling and Helping Skills, Ethics and Character Development, Mental Health Triage and First Aid, Research and Statistics, Group Dynamics and Group Leadership, College Teaching and Learning, Theories of Motivation and Behavior Change, and Practicum/Internship. Classes primarily meet in-person on-campus at UCCS or at the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA).

Work Location: Determined by course modality (i.e., on-site if teaching an in-person course; remote if teaching an online course; or a combination of the two if teaching a hybrid course).
This position has been determined to be exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
What We Offer:
Salary Range: Generally starting at $4,000 per 3-credit hour course

Timeline:
- This pool will be open from May 2024 through July 31, 2024 in preparation for the Fall 2024 semester .
- This pool will be open from November 2024 through March 31, 2025 in preparation for the Spring and Summer 2025 semesters .

Qualifications :
Please note that while the position details both required qualifications as well as preferred qualifications below, we want applicants to be aware that they do not need to have all of the desired skills and experience to be considered for this position. If you meet the minimum qualifications, have passion for the work, along with experience in a related field, you are encouraged to apply. We encourage on-the-job training for any additional skills or knowledge that become relevant to the position.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Counseling, Leadership or a closely related field
- At least three years of professional experience in the specific course content area
- A terminal degree in Counselor Education and Supervision, Counseling Psychology, Educational Leadership, Organizational Psychology, or closely related field.
- Prior and relevant teaching experience
- Prior experience with military populations
- Prior experience teaching or working with the United States Air Force Academy (USAFA) or similar higher education settings
- Holding a certification as a Board-Certified Coach (BCC) or credentialed by the International Coaching Federation (ICF)
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to move
- Employee is occasionally required to have long periods of sitting, moderate bending, and fine motor skills
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds
